Seong Ji Jeong

Postdoctoral Scholar

 Dr. Seong Ji Jeong is working as a postdoctoral scholar in the Ohio Education Research Center and as a lecturer in the department of educational studies at Ohio State University. She earned a doctoral degree with a major in vocational education and workforce development at Seoul National University, South Korea. 

Her specialty is in education program and policy evaluations, school-to-work transition and labor market outcomes, and career trajectories and transitions. She has a wide range of research experience applying Ohio administrative data to identify p-12 schools that perform at higher-than-expected levels in reading and math proficiency and find out their best practices through a mixed method, evaluate the workforce outcomes of public vocational rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities using a quasi-experimental method, and investigate the school-to-work transition patterns of public college students in Ohio. Her recent publication, "Middle-aged adults’ career trajectories and later-life financial security: evidence from Korea", examined how the career trajectory patterns of mid-aged adults in South Korea unfolded over their entire work histories and how these patterns are associated with their financial security later in life.
